The La Vista Citizen’s Police Academy is now the COMMUNITY POLICE ALLIANCE.

Are you interested in a career in policing? Or, are you curious how your local police department functions? Join us!

The Community Police Alliance (CPA) will meet in April to discuss a variety of topics including how to be a good witness, crime prevention through environmental design, police partnerships, real world scenarios, conducting traffic stops and much more. 

New this year: Participants will get to see the department’s virtual reality training on the Taser 10 platform.

The CPA will culminate with a Family Night Cookout complete with a tour of the Police Department, activities and a graduation. Individuals ranging in age from high school seniors to senior citizens are all welcome.

  3. A criminal history check will be conducted on each applicant prior to their approval for admittance into the Citizen’s Police Academy.

    Some of the course content may be graphic in nature and some the terminology may be offensive. Please be aware of this prior to applying for the program, and please be aware that you may be excused from the class if the need arises.

    Class size is limited; you will be notified of your application status.

    Applicants must be at least 17 years of age.
