Hello, East La Vista! Welcome to 2024!  

Winter work on this project has been hit and miss with varying weather conditions, but with warmer weather the contractor will be working in various locations and additional subcontractors will be in the area. As that happens, there is the potential for various roadway segments to be impacted at the same time. 

Now that work is starting to ramp up, weekly updates will begin again. We have some updates for you on both the sewer portion of the project as well as the paving portion. 

Sewer Crew

Now to end of month, crews will continue with the lateral work on Gertrude St., and mid to late next week then will move over to Edna, this will include various prep work and utility locating. Crews will also continue with lateral location exploratory depth verification on Emiline and S. 69^th St. from Emiline to Josephine. Additionally, S. 71st St. will see utility locates and saw cutting in preparation for the upcoming sewer main replacement work on that street.

The company installing the Sanitary Sewer cast in place liner will be on site this week working on various roadway segments. They will be starting on S 71^st Ave and then working on the other roadway segments where lateral work has been completed.

Paving Crew

This week crews will reinstall pavement on Gertrude on the westbound side of the street that was removed during the service lateral repair work. Also, in the next several weeks the paving crew will come in as needed and follow the sewer repair work. 

Here is the planned work schedule for the rest of February and March.

• Finish service lateral repair work on Gertrude and Edna
• Cast in place sanitary sewer liner installation various roadway segments.
• March
• S 71^st St. - Sewer main replacement with pavement installation following behind – limited access with full roadway closures during the removal and reinstallation of the main process. 
• S 69^th St. at James - service lateral repair, pavement removal, pavement, and driveway approach installation – heavy impact to homeowners at this location
• Josephine to James – starting section limited access with road closures.
• Josephine to Gertrude
• Gertrude to Edna
• Edna to Emiline
• Emiline 
• La Vista Dr. – Harrison to Emiline
